Celebrating Learning and Thinking
| What targeted actions did we take to address our school’s learning focus? | Each teacher chose an area that they wanted to address in their class based on Fall evidence of learning and areas that needed further development. On more than one occasion we shared our learning with each other at staff meeting settings to share student samples and reading strategies we tried with our learners in an effort to build capacity among one another and help keep each other accountable to our reading goals. |
| What gap or problem do these actions aim to address? Why was this particular strategy/action chosen? | Staff wanted to focus on the areas needing further development within their own class settings feeling that they could make more of a difference by adhering to the data from Fall assessment and fostering growth within one or two areas of comprehension. |
| Based on quantitative and qualitative data (including feedback from scanning), how effectively has this strategy addressed the identified gap or problem? | Evidence shows many successes. Overall, when looking at the whole school, it is evident that we have more learners who no longer fit into the emerging proficiency scale. See attached Fall/Spring data comparison to see areas of growth. |
| How will we move forward accordingly? What adjustments do we need to make if we have or have not achieved our goals? | It’s time to step back and look closer at a more refined and specific goal as a school. In September, we need to spend more time having conversations about the data from the Fall/Spring assessment comparisons to celebrate our successes and explicitly identify areas we need to address for the 2026-2027 school year. This is intended to be a discussion at our first Pro-d in September using the framework: What? So what? Now what? It will be essential that the data gathered from the framework dialogue, and the plans moving forward, are continually returned to for ongoing formal assessment purposes. |
