Hello Errington Eagle Families,
Please find attached the “What’s Up” for next week and information from the PAC Executive for our October PAC Meeting on Thursday at 9:15a. This months meeting will be the first held in person for quite some time. There will be a hybrid option if you are not able to join us in person. You will need to use the TEAMS link found at the bottom of this letter. We are hoping to see as many parents as possible in attendance. Looking forward to seeing you there.
Congratulations is due for the Errington Cross-Country Runners. They braved the fall weather on Tuesday and showed their Eagle Pride at Garry Point Park! Everyone who ran did a great job representing our school. Thank you goes out to Ms. Pan, Ms. Wilson and Ms. Greig who ran the training sessions and supported the students at the event!
We are looking ahead now to the next Interschool Athletics with the Grade 6/7 Volleyball Team ready for action in the coming weeks.
Thank you to all of the people who are using our Traffic Circle with the new changes and showing patience and community support. When everyone takes their time, leaves their vehicle in a safe space and shows consideration to other drivers it works so much better. For the next ask in terms of efficiency and traffic flow I would like to suggest that dirivers stay with their cars along the side of the school in the No Parking Area and continue moving forward as space Is available, it is much easier for drivers to pull in behind vehicles than to try and parallel park in front. This should create enough space for everyone. Please remember that we cannot stop or block the entrance to the Learning Centre Staff Parking as this is the area used for the School Bus loading and unloading and the area immediately in front of the main school doors is restricted to staff parking and District Maintenance Vehicles. Thank you to everyon for your cooperation!
Many teachers are engaged in Learning Update Conversations (Conferences) with families this week. To accommodate some of the meetings students will be dismissed at 11:50a on Wednesday. Please make a note of the time and arrange for students to be picked up right on time. Teachers will likely have families booked right away. This is an important first meeting with many families and a great time to set goals for the school year and get a sense of how your child is adjusting to their new class.
Have a wonderful week!
Be safe, be active and get outside!
Regards,
