What's Up @Errington December 4th to 8th

Dear Errington Eagle Families,

It definitely feels like December is here, with the cold rain arriving today!  It is exciting for our Intermediate CONNECT group who are going skiing later this month, hopefully the snow keeps coming in the Mountains.  The first week of our Hip Hop Program is going well.  The students have had a few sessions with the instructor and are learning steps and routines already!

Friday, December 8th is our School Spirit Day and the theme is TWINS, all the students are encouraged to find a friend or two (or more) and dress up in the same colours or costume and the look the part of twins/triplets, etc.  Let’s all have some fun and show off our Errington School Spirit!

We have three weeks remaining prior to the Winter Break and we want to encourage families to hold on the home routines that support student success at school.  There are many celebrations at this time of year throughout our community and that can make for tired learners.  Anything we can do together to keep the focus on learning and have fun at the same time is great!

Due to a scheduling conflict we have had to postpone the Staff vs Student Volleyball game next week.  Stay tuned for a new date, prior to the Winter Break.

I have been noticing that families with older students have been adjusting their Drop-off and Pick-up schedules recently.  It is appreciated by everyone using the traffic circle to have the reduced volume of cars at the peak time.  I am sure that parents driving their older children are appreciating getting into and out of the traffic circle more efficiently by coming a few minutes earlier in the morning and a few minutes later in the afternoon.  I think that the older students even enjoy the social connection time they have while waiting for their ride home to arrive at the end of the school day.  One request this week would be to pay attention to vehicle speed when approaching the school and in the traffic circle.  We have many students walking and wheeling to school and the cross-walk and walking lanes around the school are very close to the moving traffic.  Thank you for your efforts!!

Enjoy the weekend ahead!

Be safe, be active and get outside,
