What's Up @Errington Nov 27th to Dec 1st

Dear Errington Eagle Families,

The calendar is just running away from us and it is hard to believe that December starts next Friday.  We still have 4 weeks of school before the Winter Break and lots of important learning to do.  On Monday we welcome the Hip Hop Dance Instructors to Errington to work with all of our students.  The opportunity to learn dance has great positive outcomes for physical health, coordination, and group connection.  I am looking forward to seeing the students and classes working together to develop and practice to get a dance routine performance ready in a few weeks’ time.  We hope that you will be able to join us for the Performance Assemblies on December 15th.

We would like to thank the Parents of the school through the PAC for generously supporting 3 initiatives at the recent PAC Meeting.  The subsidy of the Hip Hop Program, money for new PE Equipment and money for a new Projector for Assemblies and Movie Nights are very welcomed.  Errington is fortunate to have such a dedicated group of parents that are so committed to supporting the students at staff at the school.  A big THANK YOU for the delicious Pizza Day Lunch on Thursday!  All the parent volunteers make things run very smoothly.

Please make sure that your children are headed to school with clothing to keep them warm outside during Recess and Lunch! (although we know many want to play in just t-shirts regardless of the temperature )

We received some feedback regarding the Traffic Circle during the PAC Meeting on Thursday.  Parents are wondering if it might help the flow of vehicles if we recommended “Right Turn Only” on Herbert Road at the school entry during Drop-off and Pick-up times.  We will inquire with the City of Richmond regarding signage for this idea.  For the time being if you find yourself stopped and holding up traffic waiting to turn left, please consider making a right turn and getting everyone moving. THANK YOU!!

Enjoy the weekend ahead!

Be safe, be active and get outside,
