What's Up @Errington Oct 30th to 3rd

Dear Errington Eagle Families,

What an exciting afternoon we had today! Big thank you to Ms. Waugh for pulling together all the fun “teacher” activities for the students.  The fundraising drive for Terry Fox was a huge success as students were highly motivated to see their teachers eat mystery food with no hands, get pie in the face, receive ice buckets overhead and taping the Principal to the school gym wall.  It was all in good fun and for a great cause!

I trust that you have found the Learning Update Meetings (conferences) constructive and have a good plan for supporting your child’s continued development for the next few months.  If you have not been able to connect with your child’s teacher, they will reach out by phone and/or email in the coming days.  We want to make sure that we connect with all families in some way.  Please remember that if you have questions or wish to talk with your child’s teacher, don’t hesitate to make an appointment, it is the best way for us to work as a team!

To celebrate Hallowe’en we will be holding a costume parade and short assembly on Tuesday morning.  Children are encouraged to dress-up if they wish.  Please keep any toy weapons that go with costumes at home as they are not acceptable at school.  Occasionally they can cause problems and can get damaged which is very disappointing.  We are also going to ask that face masks for costumes are worn only for pictures and during the costume parade and are then secured in backpacks.  They can be a distraction for learning and often get damaged during breaks times and while children are playing outside.  Thank you for you help in making the day spooky and fun for everyone!

Families are reminded that the students will spend their morning recess and lunch playtime outside in all weather conditions.  As it is getting colder and with more rain expected please make sure that your child has appropriate footwear and clothing to be out in all conditions.

Enjoy the weekend ahead!

Be safe, be active and get outside,
